Shard of Obsidian
This item is a black, glass-like stone with sharp edges. It is about the size of a human fist. Upon touching it, the world darkens around the player and reveals the direction and shape of a distant object. If the shard is covered with cloth before picking it up, the effect is negated and it can be carried safely.
Type: Quest Item
Options:
- The player could sense that the shard is trying to return to the distant object
- The shard could be a tool that's used to locate and return to the distant object
- The shard could reveal the nearest source of a certain type of dark magic from which it was made
